I've heard from multiple people in the police/firefighter/medical field that they choose these seats for their own children because they've seen with their own eyes how safe they are.Britax has multiple models to choose from, and from a safety standpoint, they're all great. This particular model is one of the lower end models. As such, it doesn't come with shoulder strap pads (which can be purchased inexpensively at just about any general store or online). It's also less plush than, say, the Britax Marathon. One thing to note is that Britax car seats can be somewhat large/bulky. If you have a small car you may want to think about how it will fit. That being said, my husband's car is a small sedan and we do just fine with our Britax in there. His driver's seat can't go all the way back, though. If you're tall, this could be a problem for you.I don't know anyone that has been unhappy with their Britax purchase but I know some people have wished they'd just paid the extra money and gotten the Marathon, since it goes to 70 lbs (which could easily last your child from birth to age 6, when the car seat expires) and are more cushioned, which can come in handy for people who do longer car trips.Overall you can't go wrong with a Britax. If you can spend more money, I'd recommend the Britax Marathon 70 Convertible Car Seat Current Version, Onyx.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. We love our Britax Roundabouts! Baby Bargains (great book) recommended the Roundabout 50's. We got one for our firstborn *and* second born. This was the second one we bought. We'll be able to use the first seat for our third born...The only reason we don't give it 5 stars is because it takes up a lot of room. We cannot fit 3 in the back of our van if we needed to. The girls are very comfortable in them...and they are very safe- just on the big side.
