Product Description

Product DescriptionParents don't vibrate like bouncy seats or swing like swings. They bounce and sway, and that's what the mamaRoo does: it moves like you do. Our team used motion sensors to measure the movements of reals moms and dads as they soothed their babies, and replicated those motions in the mamaRoo. It's the only infant seat with five different motions, all modeled after the natural movements parents make to comfort their babies. It isn't just another infant seat. It's our baby, and we made it for yours. The mamaRoo plush is the same great mamaRoo with a softer, plush seat fabric that's even more comfortable for your baby. Just like the nylon, the plush seat is machine washable and easy to zip in and out of your mamaRoo, and the toy balls have reversible one-,two-, and three-eyed monster patterns.•Five unique motions based on real parental movements•Built-in nature sounds and an MP3 hookup•Three reversible toy balls (original mamaRoo comes with art patterns; plush mamaRoo has monsters)•Fabric (both plush and nylon) is easy to remove and machine washable•Seat reclines to any position•Detects obstructions, won't run if recline is unlocked•Suitable from birth to 25 pounds•Discontinue use once child can sit up unassisted•Product weighs 14 pounds. LWH: 22.3" x 8.6" x 26.5"•To be green, it doesn't run on batteries, just wall power•6 month warranty

It has five settings:Car Ride: A figure eight on its sideKangaRoo:Lots of up-and-down, less side-to-sideTree Swing:High on the sides, low in the middleRock-A-Bye: Low on the sides, high in the middleOcean Wave: Around in a big circleI feel like no matter your baby, one of those settings is going to work for you. There are tons speed options and the fastest is good for colicky babies that need a fast ride to calm down (Think Happiest Baby on the block.)The swing also has an amazing noise machine- Sometimes I leave it on just for the noise machine (which operates independently of the swing btw.) It has 5 sounds (nature type) or you could plug in your Ipod- but I never have to do that, the nature sounds and speakers are just that good. The hanging toys are beautiful- black and white on one side and colorful pieces of art. But the bigger thing- they aren't overstimulating!! I didn't want 500 animals darting around in front of my baby- especially during nap time or when she is fussy. This solves the problem- but still gives them a little something to look at.The seat also reclines, which is great.I did go for this version of the swing instead of the less expensive one because it is plush- when I looked at a friends MamaRoo it seemed like the fabric was a little rough.

I contacted Mamaroo about it and they were super helpful. They told me with the 2011 one this was an issue and they fixed it with the 2012 one. They were very willing to help me get it fixed but the company here on Amazon selling them, looks like it's 4Moms but it's actually called aSavings; The company aSavings doesn't work with 4Moms as one of their actual vendors. Thus 4Mom's, the Mamaroo company that was trying to help me, hands were tied.I contacted aSavings explaining how it was dangerous for my baby and they didn't state that the mobile so easily removed a baby could do it or the year of their product on their page and they responded basically telling me that I was SOL. They didn't care AT ALL about me as their customer and even better the safety of a baby. The Mamaroo is a great product if it's the 2012 version with a secure mobile. Also purchase it directly from 4Moms because their customer service was great. The company here selling it on Amazon, aSavings, don't care about their customers, told me "too bad" in so many words, and even more, don't care if their products injury an infant.

But the real test is if the kid likes it. Ultimately they hated the swing. We couldn't get either baby to sit in it for more than 5 minutes. I don't think the motion is fast enough to soothe the baby. We have the 2011 seat that is non plush and it actually cut our baby's foot real bad from the velcro. The 2012 model has an extra pad for the feet so I think this remedied the problem. Our kids liked other swings out there, like the Fisher Price one that is real big and swings fast. I just don't think this swing moves fast enough for the baby to notice.
